The Young and the Restless’ Michael Mealor Previews ‘Nasty’ Summer & Claire Feud
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) may seem sweet and innocent following her redemption storyline, but could she be pushed too far? Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) just might bring out the worst in Claire, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
In a red-carpet interview with Michael Fairman TV, Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott) was asked about what’s coming up with Summer and Claire. Mealor had an interesting response that can only spell trouble!
“It’s gonna get nasty…No one trusts anyone, which makes for good TV,” Mealor said.
Mealor also talked about the trust issues that Kyle’s managed to create with many of the people in his life.
Summer, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) don’t trust Kyle at the moment, so Michael Mealor acknowledged Claire might be the only person left who does – and he hinted that maybe she shouldn’t!
Of course, plenty of Y&R fans on social media remain concerned about Claire and the potential that she’ll turn psychotic again.
Mealor praised Hayley Erin’s talent since she has the ability to play a likable character while still keeping viewers guessing that maybe something’s off there.
Erin isn’t the only co-star who’s been impressing Mealor lately since he admitted to catching some of Peter Bergman and Melody Thomas Scott’s (Nikki Newman) scenes from their standalone episode on the monitor when they were filming them.
Mealor called that a “masterclass in acting” and suggested it was one of the best episodes that the show had ever put out in his opinion.
It’s clear that Michael Mealor has a great deal of admiration for the people he works with, so that’s always nice to see!
As for what’s next in Genoa City, you can bet there’ll be some conflict as Summer pushes for some new custody boundaries.
Kyle is bound to lash out and accuse Summer of making a power play in response to feeling threatened by Claire.
Summer could cross too many lines if she’s not careful, so it’ll be interesting to see how things turn out with this whole Harison Abbott (Redding Munsell) custody situation.
