The Young and The Restless Star Joshua Morrow Reflects On Lost B&B Role
The phenomenal Joshua Morrow is all set to ring in his 30th Anniversary as Nick Newman on The Young and The Restless! At this point, it is hard to even imagine the soap without him. But that would have been exactly the case, had he been successful in the audition he gave for a role on The Bold and The Beautiful.
In a recent chat with Soap Hub, Joshua Morrow admitted that Y&R was in his “kismet”. He asserted that, ” I was meant to play Nick. Not getting Dylan was the greatest ‘failure’ of my life.” Well, we personally wouldn’t go as far as calling it a failure. It’s just a case of what’s meant to be and what’s not!
But it is interesting to know that Joshua auditioned for the role of a character named Dylan Shaw, an intern at Forrester Creations. The Y&R star recalled that back in the day auditioning for B&B was a long and drawn out process. He had to audition three times, then go in to meet the producers, followed by a screen test.
Joshua jested that back then he was a bit cocky and thought, “Oh, everybody loves me.” But ultimately he didn’t land the role. However, there are many signs that indicate that his B&B auditions were what landed him the opportunity to play Victor Newman and Nikki’s son – Nick on Y&R.

So things did work out just perfectly for him! Interestingly, now, several decades later, Joshua’s own son, Crew Morrow, is all set to make his Daytime debut on B&B. He is all set to play grown-up Will Spencer. Talk about life coming full circle! Do you know what that makes us crave? A crossover!
We have seen so many crossovers between Y&R and B&B over the years, wouldn’t it be wonderful to see one that puts the real-life father and son in the same scene? We would be quite excited for that.
