General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s one simple step that could go a long way toward turning one storyline around. Many fans are eager to see Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) get back to his old self, but that can’t happen when he’s on a weakened prescription.
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) previously grew concerned about Sonny’s meds, so she marched into his bathroom to check the bottles and make sure he was taking his pills like he was supposed to.
Once Carly realized Sonny appeared to be taking them, she urged Sonny to get his blood levels tested and see if maybe his dosage needed to be adjusted.
Of course, Ava Jerome (Maura West) the snake was there to whisper in Sonny’s ear afterward and act like it’d set a bad precedent if he let Carly get her way.
Ava only cares about pulling Sonny closer to suit her own agenda, but Carly genuinely cares about Sonny’s well-being and showed faith in him when she believed his claim of innocence in the latest warehouse hit.
Despite Sonny’s out-of-control moments, Carly can still see a glimmer of who he used to be underneath and may be able to get through to that part of him.
If Carly eventually brings up the blood testing idea again – particularly when Ava’s not around to sway Sonny – he might ultimately relent.
Carly’s persistence might pay off since Sonny clearly still cares what she thinks.
There’s a reason why Sonny went running to Carly once he got updates on the Jason attack. Sonny needed Carly to know he wasn’t responsible, so there’s still a connection between them.
That connection could be important once GH writers are finally ready to help Sonny see the truth about what’s wrong with him.
Will Carly be the one to save Sonny by convincing him to get his blood levels tested after all?
