The Days of Our Lives actress Tamara Braun might feel a sense of déjà vu this Friday night. She has been nominated for her role as Ava Vitali yet again after winning the Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy in 2009. Before DOOL, the iconic soap diva also won a Daytime Emmy for her role as Kim on General Hospital in 2020. Days of Our Lives: Braun Reflects on Her Emmy Reel and Working with Steve Burton
The Days of Our Lives star told Soap Hub that “it feels great” to be nominated. “When doesn’t it feel great to be nominated for an Emmy in a role you love playing?” Moreover, Braun revealed that she’s a big fan of Ava Vitali. She thinks her character is capable of great love and extreme actions for those she cares about. Tamara noted Ava’s evolution from her more devious ways to a devoted mother to her son, Tripp.
“She’s had a lot of changes. She takes steps forward, and then, she tapes steps back. I think.” The soap veteran jokes that she might end up in ‘regular person land’ and then she doesn’t!” Additionally, Braun’s Emmy reel this year showcased three vital scenes featuring her former co-star Steve Burton ((ex-Harris; Jason). The actress explains that her reel starts with Ava being in Bayview Sanitarium.
On Days of Our Lives. “There are scenes with [Ava and Harris]. She keeps having hallucinations.” In addition, Ava fears that her trauma will keep her from being able to see her son, Tripp. “He’s been a source of calm, pride, joy, and love in her life. She’s worried about that.” Furthermore, Tamara praised her Days of Our Lives co-star David S Lee, with whom she acted, “He’s a wonderful actor.”
She talked about their scenes where Gill tries to rape her, but Ava turns it around on him by getting a gun. Next, the final scenes on Braun’s reel are lighter moments with Burton’s Harris. She says, “We’re in a cafe in Paris, trying to find Susan. It’s a light scene, which gives the reel some variety.” Finally, Braun highlighted the supportive nature of the daytime community before attending the annual Daytime Emmy nominees’ luncheon hosted by Jacqueline Wood.
“We all really do in the daytime support one another. We know how hard we work.” So, Tamara finds it wonderful to come together with [colleagues] she knows and meet ones she doesn’t.
