Sloan may be gone, but Jude’s story is far from over on Days of Our Lives. And EJ is nowhere near in the clear. Leo’s still suspicious of that payoff EJ shoved on him and Melinda still knows who Jude really is. That could be a powerful bargaining chip with EJ should she ever need it. And with the way things have been going with Rafe, she could very well end up needing it…
And then there’s also Eric. Greg Vaughan spoke to Soap Opera Digest about Sloan’s disappearing act, noting that, “Eric is always suspicious of EJ. He doesn’t trust him, and he keeps him at arm’s length. He’s got his eyes on him.”
But, he also made clear, Eric is understandably distracted by family stuff. Losing his son and his wife running off isn’t exactly conducive to thinking straight. Heck, the divorce alone is going to be a nightmare if he can’t get his hands on Sloan!
Still, as Vaughan told Digest, “The truth always comes out, and so many more things will come to light. Everything will unfold eventually, and the payoff will be great.”
That’s something that returning headwriter Ron Carlivati was excited he had the chance to write after the strike ended. So the reveal is coming — and likely soon, if Arianne Zucker’s time on the show ends by August.
Our bets on how it comes out? Nicole herself may find out the truth. Because there is one teeny, tiny detail, that if we’re right, neither EJ, nor Sloan know about. Back when she switched the second DNA test, Sloan was almost caught snooping around in the DiMera mansion. She panicked, and seems to have grabbed the wrong envelope — meaning rather than switching DNA tests, she took her fake one with her and left the real one saying that EJ wasn’t the father back in the mansion!
The thing is, no one has looked in it so far. EJ tucked it away in the safe to sit and wait like a ticking time bomb. All Nicole has to do is say, “Now that we’ve got Jude back, I want to take a look at his DNA tests again to see if there are any health risks we need to worry about.” She’s going to want to be the best mom ever and not let anything risk her previous baby’s life.
And once that happens, it’s so long EJ and hello Eric!
