Michael Ilesanmi from 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? recently shared a touching tribute to his mother in honor of the second anniversary of her passing. Michael debuted with Angela Deem in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2. Despite his mother’s approval of Angela, Michael couldn’t establish a healthy, strong marriage with her. In late 2023, Michael arrived in the United States, hoping to build a family with Angela. Unfortunately, his dreams were shattered when he had to run away from Angela’s house just three months later, citing concerns for his safety and mental well-being.
While Michael is cheerful to be no longer under Angela’s control, he recently felt a wave of sadness as he mourned the loss of his mother.
Michael wrote on his Instagram Story, “two years have passed since you left, but it feels like just yesterday.” The 90 Day Fiancé franchise star misses his mother dearly every single day, saying, “your love, guidance, and warmth continue to surround me, even though you’re no longer here.”
Michael lovingly asked his mother to “rest peacefully” and assured her that she’d always hold a special place in his heart.
What Did Michael Share About His Mother’s Death During The Show?
Michael’s Mother Passed Away In August 2022
Michael first opened up about his mother’s passing during a therapy session with Angela while filming 90 Day: The Last Resort season 1. At the time, he broke down in tears, explaining, “my family, my friends… it makes me miss my late mom.” Angela revealed that her mother-in-law died in August 2022. While trying to comfort Michael, Angela told him, “she was so proud of you.” Michael appreciated having Angela as his wife because she had visited him in Nigeria during that difficult time. Michael added, “I want to honor my mom’s memory by treating Angela with love and respect.”
It’s truly sad that, despite Michael trying his best to honor his mother by treating Angela right, he had to eventually end his marriage. The Nigerian man allowed his American wife to walk all over him for seven years. However, he eventually realized the danger of being with someone as aggressive as Angela and decided to leave. While Michael may have played a role in causing Angela trust issues, ending the relationship was ultimately the best choice for him to escape the cycle of suffering and pain.
Michael’s marriage may be over, but he’s still facing a huge legal situation with Angela. He’ll soon have to face his wife in court, as she’ll be trying to annul their marriage and deport him back to Nigeria. Angela wants justice and won’t stop until she makes her husband’s life insufferable. Hopefully, Michael’s mother’s blessings would guide him through this difficult time. He needs all the emotional, financial, and spiritual support to beat Angela legally. The 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? cast member will only be free once he has finalized his divorce.
